Happyguy; If your friend told you the 4310 has 45 horsepower then better be careful of what else he or she tells you about the tractor. I have a 4310, they are a great little tractor, but about 32 horse at best. Frank. ....

Frank your thinking of the other guys tractor! The Kubota 4310 was 45 engine gross 43 net and 37.5 PTO horsepower. There were no issues with these tractors when they were built or even today. They seem to run out great easy enough to run 3,000 hours with no aggravation at all and much more if given proper upkeep! ....

I bought a L4310 with hydrostatic (in 2004) from a M-F dealer. (Previous farmer owner reportedly didn't like the hydrostatic; preferred a gear type similar to his other tractors). It's been a good size for us w/ about total of 58 acres which includes 6-7 acres of rebuilt pasture (had landclearing contractor clear and stump large white pines).
It has enough power, but still small enough to drive down older logging roads. It seems that many buyers either
1. puchase for a major work effort (e.g. house lot cleanup);
2. pick the wrong size tractor or transmission for their needs; or
3. realize they're not operating the tractor.
Why is your friend selling? ....

Frank, caused me to chuckle! There are other brands you know! I think I've done it enough time just at work! I get people asking about all makes and models, some we just talk the colors. ....
